Someone in the Detroit public school system had a great idea – forcing every employee receiving a paycheck to show up in person on one specific payday to verify the system is paying the proper people.

The audit has revealed 257 people who are being paid but apparently are, in the terms of the article, “illegal ghost employees.” The fraud could total over $200,000 per payday.

Kudos to whoever came up with that idea.
