Evidently, this girl thinks so.

I would have to guess she did not take any business classes. Or economics classes. Or any classes that revolve around common sense. I wonder if she did take classes titled "Lawsuits For Profit 101" or "Total Absolution of Personal Responsibility."

Oops, My Bad, Unemployment Edition

Unemployment reached a 26 year high during the Bush administration, and the networks trumpeted the fact and devoted most of their newscast blaming the President for the sagging economy, which continued to spiral despite record deficit spending. The media highlighted members of congress demanding that something be done immediately and calling the President to task for allowing things to get so far out of hand.

Oops, my bad.

The 26 year high in unemployment figures happened, of course, last month, which placed it squarely during the Obama administration, and the networks tried to sweep it under the proverbial rug, acting like good little lapdogs.

Good boy, mainstream media, good boy. Who’s a good doggie? You are. Yes, you are.

He’s Halfway There Already

Obama says he wants to emulate the green policies in Spain. A new report has evidence that for each job created by those policies, 2.2 jobs are lost. Most of the jobs created are temporary, and most of the jobs lost are permanent.

As a result, Spain has one of the highest unemployment rates in Europe – 18.1%, more than double the EU average.

This is what Obama wants for us? Unemployment approaching 20%?

New Poll Question - How Have Skewed Polls With Answers Designed For Specific Results Affected You?

The Tampa Tribune online section, TBO.com, is running a poll that asks, “How have job cuts in the Tampa Bay area affected you?”

The selectable answers are:
a) I was laid off
b) my kids can’t find work
c) my co-workers were let go
d) my spouse was laid off

The vast majority of the comments on the poll take notice of one small detail – there is no available selection for “none of the above” or “it hasn’t affected me at all.”

With unemployment at worst being around 10%, that leaves 90% of the readers who can’t answer the poll. How do they expect to get any valuable information from that?
